Newsletter from India dated 4/7/11

Dear Sponsors and prayer partners,

Greetings to you in the name of Jesus our Lord. I am so happy to communicate with you what the lord has done during these days in our ministry.
Picture in IndiaIn the children home all the children are keeping fine and are writing their annual examination. Some of our children are excellent in their studies. In the next academic year we would like to add few more children in the list. It has become very difficult to find good committed staff to take care of the children. But the lord has been good in providing staff.

The children had the opportunity to have a two day excursion to Ooty, of the blue mountain range. It was an enjoyable trip where the nature displays the character of God. Beautiful valleys, gardens, springs and the lakes were the main attraction; It was amazing to see lots of animals like elephants, deer’s, and wild boars etc in their natural habitat.

In the school front it’s been good in all the aspects of the academic requirement of the government. The Lord has enabled us to obtain the status of a high school. The building requirement was fulfilled and we were able to pay back all the balance due to the contractor. We take this opportunity to say thanks to all the major and smaller donors who contributed towards this cause.

Next academic year, the first batch of our class ten is expected to appear for the final examination. In order to impart better education we are required to modernize the school infrastructure with new equipments such as laptops for the teachers and projectors to the class rooms etc.

Baptism A new law introduced by the government requires that all the private schools to provide free education to 25% of students in the school. This is going to be an additional financial requirement for us to raise which is around $1000 each month. The private school association has taken this to the court of law. Please pray for this urgent need.

The Gospel work;  The church has started two more preaching points to spread the gospel making use of the school children in the villages called Koladaspuram and Senamangalam, we visit each village once a week to  visit school children and  help them in their education and share the gospel through counseling.  We also visit sick people and pray for them and encourage them to believe in Christ Jesus.

Praise the Lord for these things:

  • 1) The Youth of the Alpha Reformed Church organized a quiz program among the Reformed Churches of SIRC from the gospel of Mark.
  • 2) Five people were baptized during these days.
  • 3) Our church has won three prizes from the REGIONAL BIBLE EXPLORATION QUIZ CONTEST that was conducted by a Christian Theological Institution.

Pray to the Lord for these things:

  1. 1) Pray for the additional funds required to run the school and the needed infrastructure.
  2. 2) Pray for the Hindi believers, who are not allowed to have prayer and fellowship with us by their management.  And for an open doors in that area.
  3. 3) Please pray for Gowramma as she lost her sight two years ago. She comes to our Sathyamangalam Sunday worship.
  4. 4) Please pray for Subramani for his recovery from mental-illness.
  5. 5) Please Pray for Mr. Bharathidasan who is interested in coming to faith. His family is Hindu, it would be difficult for him. Pray that he may get courage to understand the love of Christ and publicly profess the faith.
  6. Thank you for your generous contribution and prayers. Your very presence with us gives us encouragement to go forward in His vineyard.

Thank you.

Abraham
